Chick Flicks

So as unusual aas this is for me, I went to see Two movies in the last two weeks. I have stopped seeing so many movies at the movie theaters because not only is it totally expensive but those chairs you have to sit in are way more horrible than my couch! The first one I went to see was Uninvited and the second one I saw was New in Town.
I went to see both movies with guy friends except one handled it way better than the other. I had let it be known I was interested in seeing New in Town and the first friend I went with had little interest in anything specific. After deliberating what we would go see somehow I lost to a stubborn friend who claimed to be to good for a chick flick. We ended up watching an hour and a half , in uncomfortable seats, paying almost twenty bucks for two of us to see a totally meteocare movie. I won't say it was horrible it kept my interest enough to stay awake, but we both still walked out wanting something more.
The second movie, finally was my choice. I walked in happier knowing I was getting to see the movie I was really interested in seeing and my second guy friend walked in with a much more open mind. He never once said he was disappointed about seeing a chick flick and was just happy to be going out and doing something. We both laughed through the entire movie. It was well worth seeing. In this case we walked out happy, not carrying a somber kind-of- disappointed mood like the first.
I don't mind horror or suspense, or whatever most movies are trying to be now a days, but they are never quite put together right. There is a much better potential in walking into a romantic comedy and at least laughing, then a horror movie and being scared, therefore I don't understand why you would risk seeing a crappy movie compared to one that at least has a good rep. I mainly don't understand what goes through a guys mind to make him think that seeing a certain type of movie will change his manly hood? It changed my opinion and probably a lot of the other girls who have had to sit through your guys lame movie choices, because you were to much of a man to do what a girl wanted.
